(Read Sitting in my Pew and/or To My Lili Marlene if you want the whole story. It's about a friend of the opposite sex that I fell in love with last year and in September of this year I discovered she already has a boyfriend.)

Prayer to Saint Jude

A cause hopeless and lost.
It cannot be counted, it's cost.
I fell in love and it wasn't returned.
In despair and hurt I before have burned.

You, the patron saint of lost causes.
During the day, in some pauses.
I pray thee.
To intercede to God for me.

I don't ask that she return my affection.
Just help me deal with this particular rejection.
Help me retain her friendship, that does remain.
Intercede to Christ, for my sins He was slain.

Help me to be content with her friendship.
Though hearing of her romance is a great hardship.
Through hostile waters others you do lead.
Desert me not in my hour of need.

Please do not let God turn a deaf ear to my hurt.
Give him a quick alert.
Help me gain some peace in this time of hardship.
Help me retain our friendship.

I see signs of your intersession in my daily life.
It destroys, many times, the surrounding strife.
She said she was lucky to have a friend like me.
My heart soared to great hights recently.

I have not become embittered and heartless.
I can appreciate life's beauty, entirely faultless.
Help me deal with those moments of frustration.
When the subject is of the man of her adoration.

Through your words, God sends me a soothing breeze.
Gentle and soft, so I don't freeze.
He puts around me greenery verdant.
I don't wish her harm, however inadventant.

When I see couples walking about in love.
I pray for strength from God above.
I ask that I not lose my faith in romance.
Despite the grim nature of my circumstance.

Let it be said, Saint Jude.
Through these mortal words, crude.
That I am not entirely lost and forlorn.
For me hope has been reborn.

(big hugggssssss) Believe me, she is listening along with Him, and He has a plan, and whether it is actually with Lil Marlene or some other beautiful young woman with a love as pure as hers, He will see to it you don't lose faith on romance and your heart will be answered by unconditional love! (sigh) I send many hear hugs your way, sweet friend, there there, He will answer you, you have a heart that so many women are looking for, one who can love with heart and purity, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Carl, thank you for sharing!

A heartfelt outpour of melancholy, but also of hope.
It does hurt indeed to love somebody who does not love back, but your considerations hold not only sadness, but also wisdom ... serenity will return to your heart.

Good for you. You are on the right track. I know it's not easy, but I made a mistake with this very thing. You really are on the right track!!!!! God bless you for the pain you are going through...Good that you went the direction you are going. Godspeed for your life!!
