My Focus… By Larry Chadwick Hope you enjoy the collection of poems I found that I wrote in 1993! Here is another one. Am I focused mostly on my sinful past, Or do I dwell on things that will last? Is my life anchored on a spiritual base, Or do I take charge, just in case? On Christ the solid rock I stand, But to be sure, let me lend a hand. After all, I’m a successful man, I got here by doing all I can. If I’m going to live eternally, It must be all up to me. I’ve never gotten anything for free, So it is time for me to get busy. You mean salvation is a gift, Not a finger do I need to lift? Jesus sacrifice was just for me, He died so that I could be free? This Jesus I could really love, Such a great gift from above. There is no more desire to fight, I’ve got the urge to do what is right. This kind of message I could share, With others for whom I now care. Everyone! The gospel is true, Jesus died for me and for you! September 25, 1993 If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
