Seeking Answers

Listening to a TV talk show
Could almost break your heart.
The hostess has no answers;
She knows not where to start.
Some had unhappy childhoods
They cannot get beyond.
The hostess gives advice but doesn't
Quite fit the hat she's donned.

She tries to fix their problems, but
There's something she should know.
They'll never find the answer on
Another TV show
Mother can't get through to daughter,
Father shut out by his son;
Need to take a few steps backward
Before woes had begun.

When they were smaller, Parents,
Before wrong paths they'd trod;
You should have patiently explained,
Their relationship to God.
Did you leave it up to others
To teach them right from wrong?
Go home and get down on your knees
And take your child along.

Only God has the full answer.
Be sure you tune Him in.
Putting God in the equation
Is smart way to begin.
