i have seen him
and felt his touch
his hands dripping with aloe
wrapped around to heal a ravaged pain
left by life that would not close
jagged rips in my soul
when clasped in his hands
closed without a trace
as he breathed peace over my chaos

i have smelled the soft fragrance
of soothing myrrh
his soft perfume wrapped around me
as he held me safely in his embrace
and comfort eased a grief
i could not utter or even define

i have heard his voice
in the darkest night
whisper soft assurances
when there were none available

i have heard the soft footfalls
of his steps as he walked through my home
giving me ease that all was well
because he is simply here
watching over and taking care of us

i have seen him

and i see him
each day
he walks with me
he laughs or shares a joke
he gives wisdom
he grants guidance when i ask
he is, simply
my companion
my best friend
this jesus

foolish me, you say
to think the king of heaven
walks through this worn house
has time for this worn soul

i'm sure you think
i have an overactive imagination
just a foolish old woman
foolish perhaps,
but still...
i have seen him

because
i see him still

This is wonderful, you are a sweet soul! This touches me deeply. No you are not foolish, for Our Lord Jesus IS indeed with us I am sure. He just IS, everywhere and always.
This is beautifully uplifting.

(sigh) Oh Anne, this is wonderful, sweet friend, He is everywhere...omnipresent...so He has time for us all and He only has more sympathy and love for the weary as He will always mend the weak!
