Bigger Than Me

I don’t need to stand on Shark Tooth’s Mountain
To know oceans once covered all earth.
I do not believe wealth comes from money,
Or that possessions give you worth.

I don’t believe life is a race
But given to the swift or strong…
But to he who endures to the end,
Great his reward, and rich his song!

There’s something out there I can’t see,
But don’t have to – to know it’s true.
Something out there bigger than me,
And yes, even bigger than you.

I do not believe independence
To be more than a ball and chain,
That straps life’s burdens to your back
For the mere price of anguish and pain.

I do not believe knowledge to be sin,
Lest one delude their self with it.
But wisdom always comes a virtue,
Alas, for God’s word begins it.

Yes, I believe in the promise of the rainbow,
And I’ve felt the brush of angel’s wings.
I believe in the gift of Jesus Christ,
And in the joy only knowing Him brings.

but I also saw a miracle these last
few weeks.

The whole poem is beautiful, but the last verse literally sings... and its song of praise and belief is a glorious one.
