God, Alone at the Top of the World He wakes with no desire Only the sad longing Of a youthful observer Looking on at the world machine He wishes to join… A small child Looking at older kids Begging to be able to play They kick him and spit at him Say he is too small. . . The things he sees Are more than the world knows The pot boiling up about to explode But it is held in check By a determination long since gone. . . A girl all alone Sees the end of her life But she has so much to do She has to love, to teach, to live She stays up late at night Begging god to give her a few more days But where was she before. . . Leaving the agents to play alone— God created a lonely world, Lonely not for us, but for him the only people for me are the mad ones-mad to live, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at once--jack kerouac [This message has been edited by noah j (03-20-2003 03:40 AM).] |

Hi, Sometimes I fly like an eagle, sometimes I'm deep in despair. John Denver Along with happy, joyous and free there lives sadness, loneliness and imprisonment in lives. Thank you for reminding me there is good and there is bad. I pray for all who suffer. There is hope, I have hope. In the Spirit, Whippoorwill The breath of God and the breath of a human comingled creates holy poetry. |

Welcome to Spiritual Journeys!!! I've heard it said that it is a lonely place at the top!!! I like your poem because it inspires some thought about how God might feel. A thought that I had about the girl was if she is not or not able to spend much time with God on earth, perhaps if and/or when she dies she will be able to spend more time with God and then God will not be as lonely as your poem suggests. Anyway, very nice writing, thank your for sharing your thoughts here and, again, Welcome to our little Spiritual corner. God Bless. -Bob |

"A small child Looking at older kids Begging to be able to play They kick him and spit at him Say he is too small..." (tears fall down my cheeks) I used to be this little boy! (wipes tears) I was abused when I was a little boy and abused and thrown against chain-link fences, I know this feeling EXACTLY and as for the girl I know deep down when she begins to get closer to understanding Him He can never feel very lonely! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this brought me to tears, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Noah, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Yes, so true. Lonely world it is, no one really knows anyone it seems. Our only connection is one that we can not even begin to imagine, so some do not believe, making them even mroe lonely. Great examples used. Thanks! |
