Down in the grit and grime.
That's where I learned to rhyme.
With slime covered eyes.
Caked over with softly spoken cries.
Mud rising all around.
Feet finding no firm ground.
Hands bound
With lying spirits
These were my dates.
Sin doesn't go away it replicates.
And then it defecates.
Down in the depths of my soul.

I could go on and on about what was and is gone.
But wait
How about I glorify His name.
The One who took away all my shame.
This appears to be a battered line.
If you take away His Shine.
Now don't you think it's time.
To give Him praise. The only One who can raise.
From that raunchy pit of death.
With one sweetly aromatic breath.

The Lover. Who is our Cover.
The Gentle Man. With a tender plan.
To bring us out of our dirty cage.
And set us up on His stage.
Where there is no corruption
and the only disruption is a mental eruption.
When we take our eyes off Him. The King.
The One to whom we sing and then we bring.
All of our tears, sighs, and grief.
So He takes them away and gives relief.
Refilling our hearts and soaring our belief.
Right into the sky where He awaits on high.
For the crowds to believe
and reject the one who does deceive
and causes souls to grieve. Yeshua is our reprieve.

He gives rest to the weary and broken.
He is the Word spoken. He is our silver token.
We put Him into the game called life.
So He gives eternal replays to escape strife.
And enter in... to joy... unknown untold
unfold and behold. Unspeakable ecstasies
better than fantasies and all our painful memories.
They can not compare. Now do you dare
to step away from the screen.
Or would you rather remain unseen.
Stuck in an illusion the fractured delusion
full of confusion with a brain contusion.
It is time to be healed fully concealed
behind His shield Love amply revealed.

Stop to smell the roses give up your petty poses.
Plastered smiles and melancholy laughter
those won't lead you to your happy ever after.
Accept Yeshua who died for your sins.
So that you are the one who wins.
And no longer are you denizens
of that darkened pit.
You are His citizens
so you are Kingdom fit.
Exquisite Love that never ends.
While floating down the River bends.
Twisting and curving
swiftly swerving
never deserving.
The grace and mercy we have received.
Knowing it is only because we have believed.
On the Lamb...
who was and is and will be heaven sent.
His perfect unblemished body was rent.
So we could find Life in our current tent.

This is meant to be read aloud so I don't know how it will be for anyone reading it themselves.

Yes, all poetry is meant to be shared aloud...but it sits well in silence, too.

It reads like a beautiful rap piece by one on fire believer!  Welcome!  It's a great piece.

God bless,
Rae
