Dear God I ask of you,
To keep my heart pure and true.
Dear God I ask of you,
To keep me safe in all that I do.
Dear God I ask of you,
To keep my views bright and new.
Dear God I ask of you,
To keep me smart and my mind on cue.

Dear God I ask that I,
Will always have the power to try.
Dear God I ask that I,
Can always smile even when I cry.
Dear God I ask that I,
Can be with you when I do die.
Dear God I ask that I,
Will be unknown to a lie.

Dear God what I really ask for,
Is that you always be there to open my door.

But now Dear God,
I truly must say,
Why it is I do pray.
That I learn to give and not just receive,
For my love you have had to fetch and retrieve.
Why is it I pray for my wants,
Instead of others needs,
As I bow down on my knees?
And then in tough times I wonder why,
Things don't happen the way I like.
Maybe others are out there now,
Praying like I pray.
For them alone,
What a cold empty world this has become.

For now I pray for others than me,
And soon I will see.
Life starts to change,
And my heart starts to grow,
For the true love of God I now know.

Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

It was soo honest and true... I 2 hav trouble sometimes praying for others and saying thank you, i kno EXACTLY how you feel!!!

I love how you put the words together, it fit the title PERFECTLY. Good job!

What a grand entrance! How easy it is to fall into the trap of praying for our wishes constantly. A great reminder that God is our loving Father, not to be treated like a
a credit card or Genie.
