Restraints Those heavy chains so restraining Have been forged by me and you. We built them strong, no human lives Who can cut them in two. We created them by livng In wasteful, sinful way. One link at a time we made them As weights we wear today. These irons will not be loosened Until He turns the key. It matters not how we struggle, They'll only tighter be. If we but turn to our Savior And ask forgiveness now, He will be glad to undo them Our freedom to endow. We cannot know what it is like To be completely free. Until God has forgiven us. He waits for you and me. By: Joyce 10/27/02 [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (10-28-2002 12:21 AM).] |

So true, he does hold the key. If only we can learn to trust him more. Deb |

A lovely piece; great message, implying that we're our own worst enemy from the results of our sinful actions; thankfully we can be freed by Christ and His Love for us. --Joe PS This reminds of my poem 'Chained to Myself' - perhaps you would enjoy it. Logic, when applied to people, fails miserably! --Joseph J. Breunig 3rd |

Hi Joyce: Just keep on bringing your poems along - I think that you're blessing souls here - there and everywhere - as people read them. Thanks! |
