Angels fill the highways when the demons take the beach. The five o'clock shadow is due soon to roll the beggars and the thieves. You try to close your eyes but you know there ain't no peace 'cause the church bells only ring for those brave enough to sleep. |

an intriging write-- very thought provoking an unsettling portrait of our times. Thanks for sharing it, danny cobb |

Beautifully sad. It's always easy to be courageous when we're safe, but in the midst of vulnerability, it's pretty trying. Thank you for sharing this. God bless, Rae |

I like your poem in that it reads kind of like a parable or a riddle ...but, hummmm, though the Angels, since the word is capitalized, that you were probably referencing were the Heavenly kind, hummmm, to me, the Angels that filled the highways seemed a bit like a motorcycle gang, but, that's OK, because it gave me a, perhaps, more dark and pragmatic interpretation than the more spiritual one that you were perhaps going for here, but, anyway, to me, your poem spoke volumes about Urgency and the need for the church to Wake Up. God bless and good job, -Bob [This message has been edited by Lighthousebob (08-08-2008 03:50 PM).] |

I never thought of that, that "Angels" could be interpreted as the "Hell's Angels". Not a bad thing for a poem, I guess, as poems can sometimes be seen as ink blot tests. thanks for the comment. |
