Just an alternate view of Eve and what may have driven her... So you think you know me? Bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh? Brought to life from your rib. Born of you Created from you Made for you You are beloved of God and I your shadow. An afterthought in the symphony of creation. Do you think I have no thoughts of my own? No hunger to know, what is out there, beyond you Believe you—that I live for you Breathe for you Die for you? You who have experienced everything first Leaving me nothing to conquer, nothing to share. Am I to be always second and never first? The garden stifles me, Always the same, never changing, eternal, I sit day after day after day, Looking at the hill Looking at the tree Seeing the one thing he has not known first It’s majesty calls to me, Chaste, never knowing the touch of a man, Standing haughty and alone Over looking the garden, Warden, watcher, ruler, It fires my brain. I yearn for it like a lover’s embrace. During the night I dream, dream of it, During the day, Mesmerized I watch it, I mark its growth The ruby fruits dangle temptingly barely out of my reach. Standing on my toes, I brush the smooth waxen skin, cool against my fingertips. Not yielding like the peaches and plums, Firm, hard, mysterious….. I reach… It calls to me…. Kheya |

it was beautiful. umm i never did think of it quiet like that, but in your quest to poetize Mother Eve you quite forgot her breathing vice and undoing- one called Serpent. -Kate "I have no other but a woman's reason: |

Thanks for your comment---but I purposly left out the serpent---wanted to focus on what she might be thinking before he showed up or even depending on your interpretation the thoughts he put in her head... Kheya |

Freedom of choice; it's a beautiful thing. I would rather die knowing I chose to...than to live because I am told to. |
