Angel of Mercy The Lord alone declares her name. To some she’s just another Woman, nothing to get excited about, nothing to write home about, lacking the looks to turn a single head in the crowd that is the world’s stage. More of a Grandmother than a teenage model. It makes her smile to know that even the finest bloom will soon wilt and fade, what the world calls beauty is vanity and that given the choice again she would still choose to be beautiful on the inside forever than to be vain on the outside for even a single minute. Knowing she is perfect just like God made her. Born into this world the same way she will leave it; Beautiful, kind, gracious, gentle, humble, a servant to the Lord. Chosen to ease the suffering of this world, to carry us in her bosom into the next, an Angel of Mercy blessed with Love, Hope, and Peace. Have mercy on me....... I'm not sure if that was poetry or prose, maybe it was just a prayer? Anyway, I'm new here and just wanted to say hello! Joe Crow |

Thanks Melton! See what you think of this one, Cry For Peace Standing in the circle, he stared into the sun. To offer his blanket sacrifice, unto the only one. Fighting hard for freedom, refused to lose that to a thief. His flesh and blood was on the blanket, that’s the price he’d pay for peace. Freedom's always had a price, someone’s always had to die. But the white men didn’t get it, he could see it in their eyes. His heart cried for his people, put his faith in God above. A little bird would tell him, he’d lose his life by those he loved. Yellow -haired man was led by a liar, he could see it in his eyes. No truth or understanding, had filled his head with lies. He saw his children’s hunger, he felt his people’s pain. Their life lay by the buffalo slaughtered on the plain. In a moment the stand was over, but the race must still be run. And forever’s only given, unto the chosen one. The white men think they won the war, blinded by the fools gold. Didn’t see the fight that warred in man was for who controls the soul. The drums are getting louder, pounding faster everyday. For those that have forgotten, it is the judgement day. Most history books leave out the part the white men couldn’t see. The hidden part that cries for peace so mankind can be free. Found him standing in the circle where he stared into the sun. To offer his blanket sacrifice unto the only one. His flesh and blood is the blanket. In him he let out a cry. And when all the children learn his name, True Love will never die. From the four corners, I cry. For you my children, I cry. For Peace, I cry. Only my son has heard my cry... Joe Crow |

Joe, having read 'Cry for Peace' you are rewriting the history books much in the same way as my being told I was the painter in my effort 'Who'll paint the pictures' bystanders' eyes. You are telling the stories from the point of view of the oppressed rather than it being seen as it normally via a detached CNN bulletin... Thanks for opening my eyes wider yet.... Wishing you peace for the forthcoming year John |

Great works, both of you. both were very empathetic and i easily understood the meanings and passion behind them. Well done! "There is a beast in man that needs to be excersised, not exorcised." |

Hello, Joe. Effjayel had mentioned in one of his replies to a poem of mine in Open Forum 42, that I should check you out. He thought that I would appreciate your poetry ~ and he was correct in that assumption! I seldom come into Spiritual because the Open Forums keep me rather busy! I know, you're thinking that an 'angel' would spend most of the time in a Spiritual forum! lol I enjoyed this poem as well as the "Cry For Peace". You are a very talented writer. There is depth and beauty in your words. Love & Light, Earth Angel |
