In countries of no options where to serve and obey is commonplace of no guarantees, of checks and balances flailing in the wind or emitted from shuttle craft bodies there are families that would blindly obey and others that know how to measure risks... that ideal to 'reach for the stars' to heed what many know is man's inate desire to explore the unknown is the price we pay worth it? for the sake of discovery shame on us and what we do to reach for glory only to reach for coffin handles and hear 'advice' from a world figure to the children of lost explorers that 'love' should fill their hearts when that same voice and the machine behind it very cleverly remove that source of love from the face of the earth. (big hugggsssssssss) I think it is brilliant and necessary to speak of politics somewhat here nduring this difficult time as obviously someone is trying to play God and we must be aware of who we really trust, as our founding forefathers coined "In God We Trust", nothing less. (sigh) I hope we can all be aware of this and embrace Him, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! I can't quite get a feel for where your inspiration or perspective for this poem originated, but for me, your poem hit probably closer to home than what your poem was intended... As I read through your poem, I kept getting images of the shuttle "Columbia" that disintegrated over Texas. Key words for me were "shuttle craft bodies, 'reach for the stars,' lost explorers, and discovery." I liked the satire in your poem if I read it correctly... The leaders tell the explorer's surviving children to fill their hearts with love when the source of their love (parent)has been obliterated on return to earth. Anyway, my interpretation is probably much more sad than was intended, but a good poem to inspire much thought. I did like what the President of the United States said and I will follow in his request to pray for the seven astronauts though they did not make it back to Earth that they will make it Home. -Bob |
