Everyday,is a poem waiting to be written Ever turning, world in motion Chords of music Expressing beauty Love and kindness Everyday I try to find the beauty Surrounding me Sometimes it’s hard to see For all the devil hurls at me Bitter angry words I sometimes hear They are like swords Endeavoring to puncture me Deflating the joy That comes so naturally I need to stop and look toward heaven Remembering my Father who sends his love With blue skies and Sunshine from above Although he sometimes Sends the rain Rainbows promise His love is still the same The showers are Meant for me to grow Strong and faithful To his calling When the dark clouds Roll in He reminds me That he’s watering me Once again Helping me to depend On his love that Will take beyond the end. I recall Col. Coffee, a POW for many years, saying his first poem was a prayer of thanks for a worm found in a most welcomed piece of old bread he received after weeks of only thin soup-like slop. It isn't what we have but what we make of what we have and you've proven that. Nice work. Rae |
