He Calls the Strays What a lonely little cat you are. I see you watching from afar As I go out to fill your dish With your allotment for the day. You gobble it and run away. Is that the way I treat my Lord, Accept his blessings with no word Of thanks for all the love he gives? Great Benefactor over all, Sometimes I have ignored your call. I'm sorry if I've been a trial To one who makes my life worthwhile. You feed me, clothe me, guide my way. There is no need for me to stray. By: Joyce 8/23/07 |

Joyce~ What a refreshing perspective~ You abound in the blessings of the words~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Oh, this says so much of our complacency, and how it's so easy to take our wonderful gifts for granted. We must be reminded by beautiful poems such as this Thank you Liz |

Joyce, This was a lovely little gem of a poem. I do have two "indoor" cats of my own and, admittedly, I used to be quite afraid to let them outside because I thought that they both or either one of them might run away or stray though I knew quite well that they both loved the outdoors tremendously as was evidenced in both of their creeping, running, crouching, crawling, rolling around in the dirt, laying out in the sun, etc. etc. (all of that cat stuff that cats love to do) and so it happened that as time went on that my desire for their well being, health, and enjoyment overcame my fears of their running away and I began to soon realize (though it seems a bit Wizard of Oz like) the message that your poem spoke to me and what my cats (being sooooo smart) knew all along … Truly, there’s no place (No Place) like Home. Again, thanks for sharing and, again, God bless you, -Bob |

Thanks Bob. I love cats and have always had them but now all the kitties I have is a black stray who will not let me near him. I want to get another but I live on a corner road and sooner or later they get hit or a coyote gets them. I am not good at keeping them inside they are faster than I. Joyce |

what a great comparison. I have seen this happen with cats, and can identify with this poem. Great message as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. |

It always brings a smile when I see how every day happenings remind us of our relationships with our Lord. It says a lot about the person telling it. As if we didn't know already that you're a great Christian gal, Joyce. Thanks for sharing your gift of talents. God bless, Rae I, too am a cat lover. |
