Krysti's lovely poem on prayer reminded me of one I had written a few years ago. And so now I dust it off nad post it again

When I Fall to My Knees

When I fall to my knees
When I’m down on the floor
I feel higher, much higher
Than ever before

When I fall to my knees
With my face to the ground
He raises my eyes
To the light of His crown

When I whisper a prayer
I am shouting His praise
When I lower my eyes
It’s my heart that I raise

When I humbly bow
It’s more noble a pose
Than the regal demeanor
of the time honored rose

When I’m with Him in prayer
With the bitterest of fears
What seeps out from my eyes
Is the sweetest of tears

With shades of humility
Drawn on my face
When I stoop to His feet
There’s no loftier place

When I fall to my knees
I am rising above
All the scorn of the earth
To His heavenly Love

Beautiful words.. thank you so for dusting this off, but I'm sure even with the dust it would still be a beautiful poem.

Elizabeth,

I'm glad that Krysti's poem inspired you to bring your poem back up for us to read today. I thought that it was a beautifully written poem and I thought that it showed some lovely examples that God's ways are certainly not man's ways. In one’s natural thinking or in one’s thinking in terms of how things work in their flesh, who would have thought as your poem brings to light...

quote:

When I fall to my knees
When I’m down on the floor
I feel higher, much higher
Than ever before

…only in The Spirit could this be true and only by the influence (as you mentioned in an earlier poem of yours) of The Spirit could one write a poem like this one.

Again, Beautiful, Beautiful, God bless you, and I’ve really been enjoying reading your poems.

-Bob
