The Last Shall
Be the First

The last thing I would want to see
Before I leave this earth
Was Jesus Christ thought Simeon
Before the baby’s birth
And when he saw the baby boy
Wrapped up in swaddling clothes
He said, “Come take me Home at last
Salvation’s been exposed...”
And so it is that I believe
Just prior to my death
The last I’ll see shall surly be
The first with my last breath
When from this life unto the next
I’ll walk in one accord
Not changing pace, but face to face
Still gazing at my Lord.
