On a distant striation of purple, choppy waves spew angry white foams. But my boat lies becalmed, unshaken, almost floaty as silk. Umber clouds threaten to break into rains, a portent of storm gathering strength. I ride my boat without fear, my Master, the Lord, is at its helm. In vain, the waters toss to ruffle my calm. Soon my boat will reach the shoreline, confident it will not crash, but find safe harbor. So I smile in my sleep, at peace beside my lord. |
