A True Spiritual Journey No transport for me and my mate This time we would not be late Rather than hike, we would “Borrow a bike” To leave good as new At the gate No need to stop at the brink We both had a bottle of drink We could be quite frisky, eighty percent whiskey We never took pause To think Down to the lake at the quarry Later the time to be sorry Sunshine and wine, would make us feel fine Not to sit on the fence Or worry No clothes in the water to wear While the sun danced on bodies so bare We’d try if we can to get us a tan Of course no-one else Was there Much later both feeling quite hot You should see the state we had got Red as the lobster and wobbly to boot Minds both the same Who gives a hoot Not being one for to moan How on earth were we to get home? Do you think it odd we trusted in God To get us back with no Broken Bone |

LOL!!! I really got a nice laugh from your stanza that read: quote: Big smiles. I suppose it's true... There is more than just one kind of spirit. ![]() This was quite an adventure that you partook in and I thank you for sharing it here with us. God bless, -Bob |

Oh, yes! Haven't we all gotten ourselves into a sad situation, then asked God to get us out of it? Rae |

Thank you for your replies, it was a true story from Sennelager Germany... The kind German workers used to leave their bicycles "on site" we would often borrow them to go across the “Ranges” to the local gastatte . Not a machine for picking up girls but it kept the driving licence clean. It was so annoying the bicycles were often hard to ride in an upright position on the way back and with temperatures often below zero in the winter…. The summer trip out would have been hotter to an old quarry near to where we used to guard a “Bunker” that supposedly contained nuclear warheads…. Ahhh those were the days …the Cold War… Money for old rope Dont suppose anyone here remembers Bill Days in Senne... |
