THE LAWS OF GOD

Jesus is our savior who whips the Devil’s hide
After death heaven awaits for all with him who ride.
Disobedience by believers was forgiven by his loss
The future of man was changed by his death on the cross.

We ‘re free to believe whatever till its time to say farewell
All who turn their back to Christ shall suffer the blaze of hell.
Lucifer loves to bait his hook and fish the pond of man
Once he has you in his net you’re the victim of his hand.

Some say not to worry for man was once an ape
It’s okay to hate, plunder, murder, lie and rape.
I choose to follow the Bible and observe God’s laws
Praying for the mislaid in the clutch of Satan’s claws.

Is this just poetic license
or do you believe the words you tell,
that only Christian followers
avoid the flames of hell.
With the world so full of people
who are kind and just and true,
I don't think they'll burn for ever
for not worshiping like you.

A God of love and mercy
can be shared with all mankind.
No matter what religion
in the way our brothers find.
But I'm glad you'll pray for others
that are destined for below,
but if heaven's made for Christians
where are they going to go?

The moment created this second, is a  moment that's going to last.
It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

Thank you both for your replys and a good poem. Myself I bleave all worthy people will
end up in heaven.

AFTER DEATH

The joy of life is like a fading flower
And the wrath of death is to shrivel and decay.
Committing our spirits to either right or wrong,
Simply by how we choose to live our night or day.

After death the wicked cease to be troublesome
And all who are weary have forever to rest.
People who apply their heart to seek out wisdom,
Are lovingly remembered by all they have blessed.

Let there be no sad farewell after we have gone
Hopefully to heaven, where worthy souls live on,
Searching for reunion with others we once knew
Be they Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu or Jew.

MY PRIVATE GOD

His handiwork is everywhere,
In everything I see.
I have no need to seek him out
For he dwells inside of me.

To me he is quite wonderful;
His blessings sustain us all;
Every day testing our strength
With problems, both great and small.

With borrowed light his moon shines down
Upon a sinner such as me.
I'm well aware of what takes place
As I pray on bended knee.

God is my Lord King Divine
Who created my every part.
His guiding light shines from aloft
As he speaks from within my heart.

Tom,

I am somewhat relieved that you did not take offense at my reply,  one line of your poetry triggered me to write this!

I often(though not always) write poetry from a position I do not agree with, or tongue in cheek, or just sheer irony so it may be difficult for people to understand my motives.

But I always want the content of my poetry to stir the imagination of people and replies always assure me that this has happened.

My favorite medium for replies on my own work is poetry and I would thank you for stating your case so clearly in poetry!

Have Fun,

Ivor

Tom,

A very intricate collection of poems shared here and I enjoyed reading them each...

In your first poem, I am very appreciative of the choices that you made to "follow the Bible and God's laws" because your choices have resulted in many inspirational and beautifully expressed Christian poems.

I really liked in your second poem that you request that there be no sad farewell in our passing because we do (we do) look forward to a most wonderful reunion. Amen.

In your third poem, I'm very appreciative that the God who created the universe lives inside of us. WOW!!!!

These were all three beautiful beautiful poems.

God bless,
-Bob

Tom the bible says that we will not take any treasures to heaven, but i think that words can be just as treasured as any wordly thing. Your words will surely make heaven richer..see you there!
