![]() 5513 His Blood to Drink 07 July 2006 When words where but a way to speak and love was this charity of Christ to pay When sacrifice was an Easter, that time to think each day and every memory, upon a cross, His blood to drink When summer was but a season and your eyes were the glass of a soul Then comes tomorrow, another night to dream seeking happiness, knowing kindness was there Just to know, just to understand this God, this Almighty to stand Freedom and proselyte time in memoriam to share When words were more than a picture the right words of righteousness This time of Easter, a season to celebrate for she was heaven, he was earth upon a cross, in His blood to drink “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.” John 6: 53, 55 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |

Christopher, A very nice display of your poetry. Thank you for sharing it. The thought of blood is such a difficult thing for me to think about... Smiles. I would never make it as a doctor, but, then again, how very very important and significant is Christ's shed blood for our Forgiveness and for our Salvation and, yes, He does ask us to remember. Enjoyed reading and God bless. -Bob |
