An heir to One, who owns all things You're rich beyond what you could dream A child of One who reigns supreme He left a will that was for you Directions in what you should do His promise to you from your birth That you're inheritor of the Earth No matter what you might have now Or monetaries you endow Maybe you're rich, maybe you're poor The Lord will give the world and more We look upon the worldly things And base our worth upon earnings When all along our Father's King We're rich because we're His offspring <*\\\>< |

Very uplifting. I love how you speak Promise into your reader's heart here.... and I for one receive the Promise with open arms. "I am the King of kings kid!!!" (Amen) Thank you. It is so important that we not forget our identity. Again, very uplifting poetry and Welcome back. -Bob |

Thank you all so much. Bob, thank you! I am only reposting what is in the archives. I only lately have thrown together a few sentences in my head. I can't say I've written anything in a long time. Just burned out on it all, and it's still not quite back. I'm glad I've been able to come back in here and get a bit of reading lately though. <*\\\>< |

Hi WhtDove, your choice of words for what you wanted to convey are extremely appropriate and fitting. Not to mention how nice you place them with each other. I Enjoyed your poem very much. mysticpoe [This message has been edited by mysticpoe (03-19-2003 07:32 PM).] |

"We look upon the worldly things And base our worth upon earnings When all along our Father's King We're rich because we're His offspring" What a wonderful reminder, Becky, of something we should all remember. It's like the beautiful song "The Prayer" says : ".. Remember, we are all God's Children Reaching out to touch You Reaching to the sky" I'm glad you posted this again. It's a good time to reflect upon this. Oh, make me Thine forever |

We look upon the worldly things And base our worth upon earnings Great job! Reminds me of a little Jewish story. I'll summarize it- two men are best friends their whole lives. As they become older, they make a pact that the first of them to die will come back and tell them what death is like. So, one dies and he comes back, as promised, to see his friend. All he says is, "What is most important on Earth, is of little importance in heaven. What is of the least importance on Earth, is of the most importance in heaven." Anyways, I think that you really evoke that sort of meaning with your poem. Great job! |

Boy have things changed since I was in here last. (Like posting a reply) Whippoorwill well thank you! Yep, we're all children of God, some just don't know it like we do. Welcome to Passions To my favorite bug Thanks from the bottom of my heart sweetie! (((((HUGS))))) maybe_one_day I believe I've heard that story before somewhere, but I sure appreciate you bringing it to memory. It's a good one. That is the meaning I try to convey. We get so caught up in the "wordly" things we forget what's important. It's so easy to be distracted here. Thanks much for your wonderful reply, and a warm welcome to the Passions family! I hope you'll enjoy it here. <*\\\>< |

WhtDove - Your words make me feel like royality and give such a glorious grace to our great growing family. God Bless you - Tim He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 28:26 |
