Haven to Live

If there ever was a prayer
it was of your heart
A moment to think, to pause
and stand alongside your name

To close my eyes
and know you’re there
In this place, a haven to live

Like it was always like this
with an image of you inside
A completeness so adjoined

A treasure to betroth
Yet would that prayer ever be heaven
a true life being to touch and love

What of God and His place
were you there, as to woman and man
To not be alone, or loneliness to partake
while one life begets another
both can live, within those shadows apart


“Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious
name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be
able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of
thee, and of thine own have we given thee. For we are strangers
before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on
the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. O LORD our
God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house
for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.”
