The road traveled Appears to have Led to nowhere. It has been fraught With temptations And addictions, Despair and regrets. Was ever a road so long? The longer You are on this road The harder it is to leave it, The harder to resist What this going nowhere road Has to offer. Lord, Where are you? You are so constant That I know You have not moved, Away from me. That the road Was of my choosing. If you have not moved Then you must be still At my journey’s start. Thank you Dear Lord, I can turn around, Wend my way back In the knowledge That your arms Are wide open In readiness To embrace me, Your prodigal child, And to fill me full With your Love And Glory PRECIOUS FATHER, NEVER LET US FORGET THAT IT IS YOUR WILL THAT WILL BE DONE. I am an enigma, even unto myself. |

What a poignant prayer indeed, and I am sure there are many on the same path as this poem is meandering. Enjoyed. ~ The soul lies buried in ink that does not flow ~ |

Isn't it wonderful that GOD's Grace is sufficient and that He never ever leaves us, but it is us who leaves Him on our own individual roads to destruction.... So glad that we live in the dispensation of GOD's Grace and that we can return as your poem states and that He will be waiting to receive us with His arms open wide. What a wonderful story is the Prodigal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. God bless. -Bob |

I really liked this - how great to know we are always welcome back into the arms of the Father. |

He is the good Shepherd, and He doesnt rest until all His flock are back in His arms. Doesn't this give you a sense of comfort? |
