Five years ago today, My mother passed away. This repost is for her. The Glory of Grace Lost A moment of loss, in time Will be considered in rhyme, with life A harmonious glimpse if you listen To the tales of heart Hidden, yet written. I wish I could touch my mother’s face A grace for a Stolen life ‘Blessed be the glory of sins erased’, (calls a voice from a rarer place) For knowledge is faith of a Legacy inherit Within the shrouds of falter and merit Are the ardent flames which consume And build temples inside For the blood that burns my heart holy Sanctifies the memory of a life not lived in vain. There’s sacredness in all The profane and the profound The insane and the rational The rare and the mundane The genius and the idiocy The meek and the mighty The sun and the black hole The cancer and my mother… Yes. There’s even glory in death. The moment is at hand. The rhymes of life are giving you her glories. Don’t forget to breathe and know that you are loved. A lesson learned is burned into my heart indelible. Live for this moment Seize it and hold it Find your soul in it And render it golden For sacred surrenders Are moments of eternity asunder ...and Found. |

I especially like the following verse of your poem. I have found this to be so true and esprecially after the death of a loved one... the realization that life is so very very precious becomes so very personal to our own lives. "Live for this moment Seize it and hold it Find your soul in it And render it golden" As I believe you've expressed here in your poetry, death inspires such deep and profound emotions that words just seem to fall short. I have also written a peom about death and life afterwards that I think you might enjoy and be able to relate. I lost my Mother when I was two years old and this poem tells some of the emotions that I still have today. God bless you my poet friend and thank you for sharing. -Bob A Poem to Share with You |

Manisha, Thank you for your response. Yes, poetry is a wonderful aspect of our living by which we can express ourselves to ourselves, to God, and to others and in return perhaps gain a bit more understanding of ourselves, God, and the world around us... Again, my poet friend, life is so very very precious. God bless you and hold your heart ever so close during this time of your Mother's memorial. -Bob |

this poem is wonderful.. its no surprise it won the contest.. for all of you at piptalk, id like you to know that this poem was entered into a contest and was selected along with 32 other poems among millions of poems. Very special piece of writing here.. not just because of the sheer clarity and talent in it but also the enourmous sentimental value of it. I have sent you nothing but angels, and I have placed nothing but miracles before you. |
