One Word If feelings felt could be expressed In terms of just one word That echoed light throughout the night And through the earth was heard In silent peaceful offerings To take away our pains Perhaps it might be told to us In joyful sweet refrains Perhaps it might behold in us A new and better thing A chorus through the ages sung By which the angels sing That glorifies and testifies That Jesus is our King Who lived and died, who crucified Spoke from the wounds He bled The Living Word the whole earth heard And “Love” was all He said.
