Rose Most Sweet A rose is but a rose most sweet When laid before its Maker’s feet Becomes a sacrifice A jewel of greatest price To lift one’s heart, to make one bend To seek the Son and call Him friend To know which angel will He send With muse to make complete This rose—this rose most sweet. No sweeter rose shall one partake Than one which prods the soul awake To gently look within To ease the soul from sin With fragrance from God’s heart above So filled with Faith and Dreams of Love That Heaven sent will be the dove When swooned our souls might meet This rose—this rose most sweet. Thank you ladies for your kind replies... After writing this poem, yesterday evening during our evening walk, my wife and I smelt this beautiful beautiful fragrance, like a light perfume, in the air. My wife smelt it continuously and I just got sporadic whiffs of it every-so-often. My wife asked me if I thought that it might be the presence of the Holy Spirit and I said I don't know, but it could be.... Then, when we arrived home, she said that she smelt it in our house. What a most beautiful place to sense God's spirit. Amen. Anyway, just thought I'd ramble a bit and share. God bless and thank you again. -Bob |
