He sells death
The price is our soul
And we pay

He offers sin
No purchase required
And we pay

He promises heaven
For a price
And we pay

God is a liar
He declares to be true
And we believe

He claims to be our friend
And Love never wins
And we believe

He teaches us church is for fools
The weak minded and poor
And we believe

He may offer wealth
He may offer life
But it is we who have been sold

We cannot buy what he offers
Yet we pay the ultimate price
What kind of deal can he make?

The price paid by Jesus
Clears our debt
The mercy offered by God
Saves our soul

The devil is a salesman
Don’t be sold

Oh yes, and what a salesman he is!  He's able to wrap the nastiest in warm, inviting smiles.  He can lure people away from thier families, and responsibilities into 'feel good' drugs and alcohol, illegal work, temper them with 'everybody else does, then tell them they're so bad God couldn't possibly love them.  Thanks for sharing this piece.

Wow!!!  A great poem and one that I hope to read again sometime.  I loved the way you started out as Satan being the deceiver and liar and then winding it up with Jesus being the Victor and that He has already paid the price.  Excellent poem!!!

PS. Do you know that your comment still says "Please don't comment, I won't be back here for quite a while."  Yet you keep submitting poems so I am wondering if you should change your line about Constructive Critiques.

A whole lot of truth in this one.  If only everybody could understand that the devil is a liar and just gathering souls for his home in hell so he won't have to burn and suffer alone.  Great poem.
