Each year I write a new poem and make my own Christmas cards...this is this years poem It’s not about the folks who’ll gather It’s not in seeing far off kin It’s not the packages that matter Nor the gifts contained within It’s not the Santa dressed in red The reindeer, elves or loaded sleigh It’s not the lights and decorations Nor family feasts on Christmas day For the true meaning behind Christmas Lies in the gift sent from above A tiny child born in a manger God’s own son, sent out of love The angels echoed out their tidings The shepherds left their flocks behind And joined the likes of orient wisemen In hopes that they would Jesus find There in a humble manger sleeping They found the newborn infant Lord They fell down on their knees in worship Then left to spread the glorious word So in the spirit of the shepherds Let us, our joyous voices lift Let’s put the Christ back into Christmas And celebrate our greatest gift copyright 2004 ~Ruth Kephart I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten,but I've loved another with all my heart and soul,and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S |

Beautiful!!! And I do believe that you are presenting to Him as well as to your family and to your friends your first gifts. Your poetry is a gift from God and it is so "Beautiful" to see that you are using your special (special) talent in ways that brings Glory and Honor to Jesus. I do beleive that all who read your Christmas offering will be truly blessed becuase it comes from deep within your poet's heart. God bless. -Bob |
