a lifting fog,
a drifting bog,
a soggy log,
a dirty dog ...
... and I wonder if I'll ever amount to much?

a morning dew,
a glowing hue,
a stewing brew,
a squeaking shoe ...
... and if it's not me ... it must be you,
if I'll ever get ahead.

a peaceful hush,
a cheeky blush,
a crushing slush,
a gushing flush ...
... and all of my insecurities and anxieties
go rushing down the drain
while I walk this morning's walk
with you.

I love this line so much, along with the rest of the poem. It is so true... we can only advance through walking with Christ.
