Little Painter Grandma, little painter there is so much I need to say as I slip through hindsight clouds and remember childhood days How you embraced our common spirit the love for aesthetic sight and art How I knew the width and depth of love you held for me inside your heart I remember the most genuine of smiles and your fragile tender hands I remember your beautiful works of oil you gave as gifts to all your friends Grandma, giving teacher please remit my ignorant youth for I failed to grasp our good connection I failed us within the clear sights of truth We could and should have been so close I curse my complacent absent-minded heart for failing to understand your worth for failing to share our hearts of art I should have made the effort to soak up everything you craved to give to hold you and make your last years rich to study your giving ways and how to live Grandma, blessed angel my heart reaches up to you in desperate cries O Grandma paint me some forgiveness and brush away regret from my weeping eyes I pray you can look down and feel me giving you all the hugs you missed as I search for you beyond the stars where your tender soul resides within eternal bliss Grandma, I can’t wait to see you one day when both our times have passed May we sit and paint our new communion as we share our hearts of art at last Timothy Work 2004 This poem is very personal and I almost didn't want to share it. I can only hope that someone out there understands how I was feeling when I wrote it and will enjoy the write. He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. Proverbs 28:26 |

Dearest Tim, You certainly hit the right chord with me. I know your grandma knows and understands. It is ever thus. We don't know the worth of some of our blessings until they are gone. I like your Grandma am passing on my thoughts in poetry, rather than painting as she did and I know some day they will be cherished. I have not been back for a few days as I have some heavy projects going, so I hadn't found this until now. Love, Joyce |

It being so personal all the more reason to read with respect and reverence. Nicely done. |

Timothy: I do understand your feelings. I know I didn't appreciate my grandmother the way I should have either. She was a poet and wanted me to be one also and I didn't take the time to learn from her, what I am now trying to capture! Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Joyce - thank you. It is great to hear from you and I am looking forward to becoming a regular once again. As I grow older, I am realizing how important all relationships are - family and friends. Thanks again - Tim Msflame - thank you for your compliment, I tend to find that the poetry I write derived solely from emotion always tend to flow form my mind so much easier. This one was no exception. God Bless - Tim Betty - Sounds like you understand exactly where I am coming from. I suppose this subject will always break my heart - until they day we final meet again, which I know we will. - Tim He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
