The spring planting of seeds Creating the loving moisture Of germinating needs So rich is the soil That it was fertilized By endless toil Bringing colors so vivid In exotic brilliance Creating images so livid Within endless textures Creations of unique forms In nature’s mixtures Awaiting great expectations As heavens beauty open up Into spiritual medications Using time in special arrangements The span of exhilaration Is extended in living monuments Decaying to be replenished In the seeds of others Composting work never finished What started in one season By a gardener in love Is extended in hands needing no reason Except the inner delight Of seeing your garden grow Even in the glow of midnight So as poets words flow restlessly In billions of combinations of time The mastery of gardening goes on endlessly D.Lester Young 10/28/2002 Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |

Will you teach me how to garden? All my 'unkillable' plants always die.lol Sweet poem. [This message has been edited by Red (10-29-2002 12:27 AM).] |

I like this poem for its extended meaning possibilities. We either plant the seeds of ruin via our actions or the seeds that cause death. We either neglect the garden of friendships or we cultivate it and reap its rewards! Enjoyed! God bless! |
