He walks along a faded path
to a world he's never known before.
Anxious anticipation, he paces himself,
a long journey-he travels alone.
No footprints to follow-
he walks where no life existed before.
This desert is a desolate place
-no tree, no insects,
no sign of life in sight.
He gazes amid his surroundings
awakening-
to the purity of each step,
each grain of hot sand,
the echo of his own breath.
He senses no fear-he too
has pureness in his soul...
like the virgin sand.
