This little poem I write, might not
be understood
Before I got my little Scooter, I surely
never could

Understand how my friend could love her little
dog like a baby
I even told her that it might be just a
little too much, maybe

But then for a gift, I got this little
dog of mine
It's been almost a year now, and we get
along real fine

I've had pets all of my life and I
really did love them
But this one I'm more attached to, I
hope I'll always have him

From the start he's been as special
as could be
Because he was a Christmas present that
my Love gave to me

I never did like to let, in the house a
dog to stay
But little Scooter from the start, in here
most of the day

With him in my bed, I even let
him sleep
That started out when just a puppy and in
his bed he'd weep

I know when I talk about him some think
I'm mighty silly
But like my friend said to me, it doesn't
matter to me really

I've got my daughter, my Love, family, and
lots of good friends
But, my little Scooter, a loving ear
he always lends

He listens to me when I have happiness,
troubles, or woes
It seems that with his instincts, my moods
he always knows

When I come home from going places, and doing
things I have to do
He greets me with such love and joy, like I've
been gone for a year or two

So if every now and then, a poem like this you see
I'm just talking about my little Scooter, who's
like a "baby" to me

(smiles) Awwwwwwwwww, this is sooooooo adorable, sweet friend, I cried reading this as I love all animals so much and puppies are sooooooo cute and how your initial reaction must have been the minute you first looked into Scooter's beautiful eyes and licked you on the face when Gary gave him to you! (big hugggssssss) We have one puppy in our family too, her name is Millie and she's a Bichon Frise, yay! I love pets so much because I truly think they can feel like we do and they always cheer me up when I feel sad, and they're also God's most wonderful creation like children are! (smiles) This is beautiful, sweet friend, my birthday is tomorrow, yay, and when I get home I'm going to hug my Millie, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thnak you for sharing!

I know exactly how you feel. I have a dog named Cassie, and she means the world to me. Dogs are just the sweetest things, dont you agree. Thank you for sharing!

Ethel - awww....what a sweet poem. We are in the process of looking for a new puppy. We had to have our dear Doberman put down a few years ago, and seeing as how close she and I were....well you can imagine the grief I felt. They are such comfort and joy to us - our pets. hugs, Chris

Noah, thanks much for the sweet reply and the litle graphics, too. Yeah, Scooter is so sweet. He's a really loving and protective little fella. He's looks like a Dachshund like his Momma, but his Daddy looks like the Taco Bell dog. I sure do love him. Your Millie is lucky to have you, too. Thanks, and happy early birthday.

Oh Chris, I'm so sorry about your Doberman. I hope that you find another puppy soon. I can imagine how I'd feel if something happens to Scooter. Thanks for your reply.

Ethel, I can certainly understand. We just love to pieces our little Bernadette.
