A young woman and young man, one day did meet It was love at first sight and their hearts skipped a beat They dated for awhile, then decided to wed When the day came, their wedding vows were said When they said their vows, each one came from their heart They both meant what they said right from the start Making a living was hard for them back in those days But they worked together and found the right ways It wasn't always easy to keep peace of mind Important to them was to each other be loving and kind My brother and me they tried to teach from the start To put God first, then spouse and family, and you'll never part They always told us that if together a husband and wife would pray Then most marriages always would together stay It must have worked for my parents,I'm happy to say For after these many years, they're still in love today They have such a special love, they really do Like two teenagers in love, they still act, these two Their vows they did keep, they came straight from their heart They said, "In sickness and in health, until death do us part". (Mama and Daddy, even though I haven't always followed the example the two of you have tried to set.......I am very proud of both of you. I love you both very, very much.) (tears of joy fall down my cheeks) Oh Ethel, God Bless You, now I'm flooding in tears after this read because I know just how you feel about wishing your parents a happy anniversary as I just celebrated three weeks ago my grandparents 50th anniversary, and my parents not long ago celebrated their 20th anniversary and how it makes me happy inside to see their love lasting so long and most likely will forever and ever! (kiss on cheek) I can't wait till you propose to Ethel then you can follow in your parents gootsteps of eternal love forever, I love this, this poem had me crying too as in daydreaming of marrying my Joanna in the near future five years from now or so and having a sweet little baby girl and living a happy life forever and ever! God Bless You, sweet friend, I'm adding this to my library because it is breathtaking, I send happy hugs to you and your whole family, we all love you so much, CONGRATULATIONS ON OVER 1000 POSTS!!! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Thanks, Noah, for reading my poem and for your reply. You are so sweet. I'll be glad, too, when Gary and I are finally married. Like you and Joanna, though, we've still got some circumstances hindering us from getting married right now. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could just follow our hearts and do what they tell us to do? Gary and I want that so much. We would both get married today if we could. We would, too, if there wasn't so much opposition on my side of the family. I just hope that he doesn't get tired of waiting for me to think the time is right. He proposed to me in 1998. I said yes, but one thing after another has happened. Well, I'd better hush, because I know this is just causing more unanswered questions. I know in my heart, though, that Gary and I will have as wonderful a marriage as my parents have had all these years. Thanks, too, for the congratulations. I appreciate you and all my other friends here so much. Thanks to you all for the encouragement you all have given to me. Love To All, Ethel |

Well you certainly have been a busy little beaver! At the rate you're going, you could rack up 12,000 in your first year! Impressive!---and you tend to give very indepth replies! Congratulations! Might I add, that your parents must have been very pleased with this poem that you wrote for them. Linda |

Thanks, Linda, for your sweet reply. I doubt I'll have that many posts in a year, though....HeeHee!!!! About my poem, my Mom and Dad haven't read it yet. I was just thinking today about marriages and my parents and how proud of them I am. They are so cute, too. They are getting on in age and still act like newlyweds at times. I have wanted this kind of lasting, enduring, unconditional love for a very long time and I do believe I have found it with my Gary. Thanks again for your reply. Love To All, Ethel |
