Written for my daughter as a Christmas Present Dec. 25, 2000 This is her Special Time of Day My Special Time As the Sun slowly rises and a new day is dawning Here we sit alone ready to embrace the morning So peaceful and quiet this day will begin The Sun always there to comfort me like an old friend Sitting here alone not knowing what this day will bring We listen quietly as the bird’s sing We can almost hear the thoughts running through our mind Hoping this day we will find The answer to our prayers we’ve said time after time The Sunrise I will cherish as it begins a new day A promise of New Beginnings before time fades away Gone is yesterday forever in the past With no promise of tomorrow as the Sun rises fast How I wish this Special Time would last A time of Hope Plans and Dreams A time to reflect on what life really means As the Sun rises and our day will begin We hate for this Special Time to end We wipe our tears from eyes that cry As the Sun chasses the stars across the sky Sadly it’s ending but somehow we find a little joy in our sorrow Knowing it’s just begun it’s journey and will return to us tomorrow Each day will bring another sunrise with thoughts and dreams anew But Dearest Daughter there will never be another you Love Daddy 12-25-00 |

Paul, how utterly touching. Those precious moments with children. And, how nice to hear a man's point of view regarding the special love for his child and the dreaming and planning we do in the quiet moments of life. This was very well done. Thanks much. It is heartwarming. Warmly, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Pat~ Thank you so very much. Glad you liked a man's point of view. LOL. I think little girls even if they are grown will always have a special place in their fathers heart...Paul |

Awwww! This is a beautiful poem you wrote for your daughter. I am sure she will always treasure this. Hope you framed it for her! If I had a father who had wrote a poem for me, I know I would have treasured it for the rest of my life. All my father can do is drive a big mac truck. |

This is so endearing, to read the words of love that a father has for his daughter. Paul, this was so beautifully expressed. For the rest of her life, and long after you have passed on, she will be able to pull out this poem and be reminded of the timeless love you have for her. She will feel extra special because she'll be reminded that she'll always be her Dad's little girl. Beautiful! Words to last a lifetime and beyond! Linda |

Paul, nothing sweeter than the relationship of a Daddy and his daughter! '...Each day will bring another sunrise with thoughts and dreams anew...' Enjoy ever moment with her as they are all special. Hugs, Marti Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. |

Well I see there is a daughter that is not only loved now, but was loved "right" from the start by a Daddy who sure cared and showed it. Those are the ones that become Daddy's girls Oh, I liked this! |

Hello, Paul....I'm so glad that someone bumped this up here so I didn't miss it again. I guess I missed it the first time because you wrote it on the weekend that I got to go see my Gary. I'm SOOO glad that I didn't miss it today. I looked for you and couldn't find you before. And, dear friend, I was not disappointed in your poetry IN THE LEAST. This is simply beautiful....the thoughts, the words, the love that shines through so brightly....just ALL of it. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful poem with all of us. Paul, I look forward to reading much more of your work. Thanks, too, for reading so much of my little poems. In form and style, they are nothing compared to your work.......just from my heart. Again, dear friend, thanks!!! Love to All, Ethel |
