Moving Time A tick a tock of time’s lost clock A treasure found, for me So slow the weight of pendulum Which shall shift eternally For on a day of long ago In 19th century This heard the clicking tick and shift Of a pendulum swinging free For too long it remained embalmed A treasure, once set aside, Until it finally came to light With old stories to confide. Hear! It almost skips in glee! Now free from dust and grime, And clicks and whirrs in measured sync Of its moments lost in time. You may laugh, with quiet chuckles In your hurry, to move so quick… While I sit in solitude And count life back on clicks But there is measurement in its beat And a chime within its soul As gentle spirits angelically sit By this heirloom trimmed in gold. |

Well written, Karilea. I can almost hear the clock as it paces out it's measure. |

What a beautiful time piece and what a treasure to own. How I would love to sit in your rockers with you and just listen to the tick tock. I can see you're really enjoying your new camera. Keep clicking away. Wonderful write ... hugs, Marti Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. |

I love this! Jon's dad fixes/restores clocks! He has a true love for them, he's fantastic with them. I have a clock that would be a perfect mate to that one! I swear, I will figure out that camera (giggles) and get you a picture of it. Loved the feel of slowing down here, the quiet reflection Jon was reading over my shoulder, he likes it very much too. |

Karilea, I hope you personally found this clock and restored it; how you must love it. The poem is terrific, and I stand amazed how you take objects and paint pictures with your words. I too, liked the self-reflection brought out. Warmly, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Sy, I do so enjoy when you pick out a part to repeat...thank you for the light of your eyes this Sunday morn... LJA, indeed, its tick is clicking as I speak, I am not surprised you could see the pendulum swing... Marti, you are welcome any time. Do you enjoy peppermint tea? SEA...it is so good to see you on the boards again. Tell Jon that yesterday we went to an auction of a relative - her only son did not want any of her treasures...and sadly, we could not see all of them in strangers' hands. The clock had been stored for several years - we were unsure if it worked, or not. CJ took it and cleaned it up carefully, hung the pendulum and voila...it works as if it had never missed a beat. The date of it? 1879.... Pat, I am often inspired by the simplest things around me...thank you for enjoying this with me this wet, rainy Sunday morning... Magnus, is that an idea I see glimmering in your reply? |

"But there is measurement in its beat And a chime within its soul As gentle spirits angelically sit By this heirloom trimmed in gold." (smiles) Wow!!! Oh Karilea, this is wonderful, sweet friend, my grandparents have this big clock hanging on their corner wall right over the antique television set where when its all quiet and silent, it is relaxing just hearing the onomatopoeia of the gears! (sigh) This is delightful, sweet friend, you always recall moments of time in your timeless words, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Karilea, this is so beautiful......the poetry.....the clock and the story behind it.....your other treasures that you showed us in the angels by the clock......the thought of you sitting in the rocking chair thinking all these beautiful thoughts you share in your poetry....just EVERYTHING. I'm glad that you got the new camera so you could share all these beautiful pictures with your pictures of words. Thanks, again, for sharing with all of your family of friends at PIP. Love To All, Ethel |

By having brought this clock back to life, time has been added to yours---by slowing it down---tick......tock, tick......tock....oh so comforting. The clock as well as your poem are treasures. Linda |

Wonderful poem and picture...in this day of digital watches and clocks...the sound of time being measured by ticks and tocks is indeed rare...thank you for the memory... |

Karilea, I love clocks. Almost as much as I love your poetry. Awesome. Someday I'm going to build a grandfather clock. Until then this sweet poem will keep me satisfied. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

I like the idea of turning the hands of time. These words charm me because of the perfect picture painted of that process. Thank you. etoodog |

That unstoppable, unalterable, tick- tock reminding us all time waits for no one not even we who pretend to own it life heartbeats one per second and who knows how many will dance before our forever repose |

Well...I don't sit still often, but if I were going to, that might just be the view to make me do it. How very lovely, this entire timely package. There is no time like the present to give a present of the time, and you did indeed. |

Kariliea, next time I'm in the neighborhood, I'd love to drop by for a cup of peppermint tea. I bring the crumpets. Happy Halloween. Marti |

Beautiful clock, fantastically metronomical poem, very fitting for the subject! Certainly made me feel the history in the clock. If you're interested in my thoughts on two spots, e-mail me. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
