You Need A Break From The Headache Of Life

Silence within heartbeats
Fighting pain
Futile resuscitations
Nothing happening

Tears are leaving
Flooding emotion
Lungs whispering
Time swallows

Mind wanderings
Imprisoned soul
Graveyard spirits
Stagnant motivation

Boot strings
Holding faith
Prayers reverberating
Fading echoes

Seedling from nowhere
Needing a home
Germinating in steel
Determined fortitude

Nothing
There has to be something!
In all the weight of the world
Enlightenment must be painless

You need a break
From the headache of life
Not permanently but mentally
In a paradise of some tranquility

In a therapeutic revival
Within medicinal reasoning
Meditation of your life’s forces
Relaxing the mind hypnotically

In the inner reaches
Of total relaxation
The flame has heart burn
In a solution that soothes

For in the pain, life lives
The teacher is the soul
In the blues of living
The music must come out

Playing to the beat
A band calls your name
Getting down to choruses
Lifting the spirit higher

Into a euphoria reaching the heavens
Sending the instruments within reviving
In the melodies of jazz fest
With Zydeco feet just a dancing

Your heart being pumped up
Sweating in the resuscitated feelings
Let’s get down and boogie
For you are ready to party
