Will I Miss Me?
By Cor

Have I helped those I love?
Made a child smile?
Enjoyed a sunny spring day?
Have I walked barefoot through the sand?
Have I stopped to enjoy life or just let it slip away?

Have I flown on a breath of air
Soaring above the world
Leaving problems behind?
Have I watched the sun rise basking in the crimson hues?

Have I seen the Grand Canyon
Or the Amazon rain forest?
Have I seen a world without hate?
Have I had the joy of teaching another?
Have I danced in the rain, or gone to Spain?
Life, Twisted and turned me around
Often bring me down

Touched by so many lives
Am I meant to die?
Would I miss
One more kiss?

Countless people I have helped before,
Shouldn’t it be at least one more?
Holding a door
Or picking something up off the floor?

Will I ever be able to list
All the things I’d miss?

Will I miss me when I’m gone?

Interesting convolution of the question, or is it the "universal" I?

the key to life is to live respected and die regretted...it's what we do while breathing on this earth that influences whether we attain those goals...you provoke thought with your words...

...believe what your heart feels.....

A very interesting twist and perspective on a very universal question.

I venture to ask, "Will you be missed by OTHERS when you are gone?" That is the true measure of a man. The answer to that, I would surmise, is a most definite and resounding, "Yes!"--- and if that be the case, then you need not concern yourself as to whether you would miss yourself when you are gone, because I believe you will be taking you, with you!

You see, this must be a good poem because it provoked thought!

Well done!
