If Ever If the rivers run dry and the mountains fall If within a strand of time there lives all If the skies above should break away If the sun loses heat and the earth should sway If all I know becomes lost to me If I never understand life's mystery I will be content to have known you You are the light that shines so true If days should darken and become as night If hell sets free all its creatures of night If the sea drains away and leaves only sand If never again will I understand If truth becomes bent and changes it's hue If the rainbow no longer leads to you I will be content to have had your touch You are the sanctuary I needed so much If the sky grows dark and pain rains down If there's no more joy and my face wears a frown If the lies I hear are the only view If colours fade and grey is their hue If touch becomes a torment of pain If my sky is washed by endless rain I will be content to have heard your voice You are the way forward my only choice If the world should turn its back on me You alone would steer my soul to sanctuary Marsha Breathe through the heat of our desire |
