This one has been brewing in my mind for days...I finally had time today to devote to placing it on cyber paper and then posting for critique. brings echoes of a sweet rhythm above a vignette of a chrome dinette or over hardwood flooring and a stuffed settee interspersed within the beat is the giggle and chatter of honeyed voices a song of rich memories that reverberates yet when I seek deeply, into the folds of my mind, I know without a doubt these recollections are not mine not mine to claim but swells upon cellophane viewed, perhaps, upon a silver screen in some recess of my past why are these sounds so comforting why do they provide solace when they are not of my reality but of some movie palace gray hair and glasses dimpled cheeks and syruped smiles are wonderful glimpses that charm my wiles like polka-dot bows and bouncy Shirley-Temple curls bring tears of reverie for me ©October 19, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

For me personally, this poem flooded me with a warm and nostalgic glow. Memories of having tea with my grandmother from the time I was a little girl until her passing well in to my young adult years. She always brought out her fine bone china tea set. The small cup and saucer was just for me when I was a child. My tea was 2/3 milk and 1/3 tea, but I felt so grown up! --teacup's clatter --chrome (kitchen)set --hardwood floors --giggle & chatter --sounds so comforting --gray hair --dimpled cheeks --Shirly Temple --bouncy curls My grandmother often called me "Shirley Dimple"... There were so many memories that your wonderful poem brought back to me. This must be saved in my library! Thank you! EA |

Oh my....thanks so much for the sweet memories. There was always something so comforting in the scent of brewing tea at my grandmothers house. I used to love looking at her collection of fancy cups and saucers. I enjoyed this write very much. Chris ![]() Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

![]() (sigh) Oh Virginia, this is so beautifully nostalgic, sweet friend, I too thought of my grandmother reading this and the wonderful Earl Grey and chamomile teas she makes with organic honey! (kiss on cheek) Your wonderful words reflect such wholesome heartland memories, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Vas, Another gem. I love the descriptions. You draw the picture very well. It took me right there, I could see, taste and smell. Many thanks SG |
