You’ll never know how you’ll react,
until death stares you in the face.
Will you have strength enough to fight,
or dare allow its cold embrace?

This year the doctors thought I’d die,
‘til I received a miracle
and more than ever, now I know
that life is truly beautiful.

This year I watched as angels cried,
when God said it was not my time,
that I have paintings yet to paint
and still have words to set to rhyme.

My gift this Christmas is my life,
a second chance to give God praise
and know, because of Him, I live.
So much more precious are my days.

I will be here to raise my son,
spend time with friends and family,
give of myself to those that hurt.
This year has grown a better me.

Thank you, Lord

Michael--Your health is a gift to me as well, dear friend.  You are a miracle that keeps on giving.

Each day is a gift from God and it is up to us as to how we use it. You, dear one, choose wisely! You spread your kindness and love to those around you and you glorify our Creator with your creative works!

Your surviving against all odds, just goes to prove that not all sayings are valid, i.e. "Only the good die young!"

Michael,

Heart hugs to you. Your continual effort of giving back, no matter what, always warms my heart. You are special!

So glad to hear the good news re: health. It does change one's perspective, when faced with what you described.  (But, I've a feeling you were no less kind and thoughtful before this trial.)

God Bless,   Pat

Very deeply moving, and wrapped in a Christmas bow.  Forgive me, for I didn't know the extent of what you faced...but feel blessed as well...
The world would be shorted one father, one friend, and one poet...And an unending flow of gentle wisdom and love of life. Priceless.
Glad to have you here.

Oh, Michael, a poem of thanks and rejoicing, both for you and your friends who truly love you.  Write on, my friend!

Pen how you truly feel...
it is a safety-valve for the soul!

Very beautiful and inspirational Michael.
Yes...we all took the time to pray when you were ill..
We all must take the time now to thank Him for the miracle of you getting your health back.
Well said my friend..
A blessed Christmas season to you and yours..
~Hugs~
