I simply have no time
For poems that do not rhyme
Such poets, as they pose
Just render elegant prose
So give me simple doggerel
And all the rest can gotohell

But stay away you silly dope
and take the noose from out yon rope
Put down that club and knife you tote
I'm sure I'll love the verse you wrote
Pleae place your image upon this post
I'll be the one who's clapping most

I may not always rhyme
for free verse takes up my time
and stories wend their way, rehearsed
from ages of sages' quiet verse...

But I shall try to join with you
as we meander through fields of blue
to leave a bit of rhyme in time
as ages blend it into wine...

~*~

I like to rhyme
And mark in time
The metered measure
Brings me pleasure

To like free verse
May seem perverse
But I love all form
There is no norm

Rhyme is bountiful and fruitful
But to write ones own heart is most meaningful
Writing freely is my job description
Don't quit your day job is my fascination

So bear with me in what I write
Whether my words are with or without rhyme
For I am and will always be mine
Writing poetry and making my visit in the limelight

Now you know that I don't rhyme..
I just cannot find the time.
Free verse is for me..
Now won't you come for tea?

*Okay Ken....you win..I can't stand rhyming..
know a good teacher?*

To Sunshine and Angels, Earth and Mistletoe
You are the wind that waves me to and fro
And E, my friend, that bids me to keep versing
I offer my thanks instead of simply cursing
at words that will not rhyme.

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

I always try to rhyme, I know what you mean about that...but some free verse is good too...it just doesn't fit me most of the time...I gotta rhyme!
