The Black and Blue of You

~~*~~

No hue of you
on a moonless night,
but there's richness I feel,
when embraced, your hold tight.
The warmth of your arms
possess all I need
to remain in your presence
in the eyes of your feed.

~~*~~

I think of you often,
perhaps,a little too much
and I silently speak
to myself of your touch
and the rise of the rhythm
when near you, I become.
I think of you often,
when yesterday's done.

~~*~~

The darkness that moods you
does mirror my own,
but the obvious settles
for time, all alone
with my thoughts reaping blue
of the eyes that can see
and the blackness of doubting
that comes over me.

~~*~~

Do you ever feel bruised
by the banter of words,
by the crushing of feelings
when words are unheard?
Do you silently speak
of the black in your blue?
Do you know that the truth is,
I'm here, just for you.

~~*~~

I am holding my own
on this quiet of nights
watching the darkness
of the words in my write,
wishing the moments would
have you in hold.
'Til then I am with you
in the words, yours, of old.

~~*~~

back
just sitting here thinking...letting my mind do the wandering act it likes to do...
I think I am off to an early bedtime

Maureen

Painful words from the heart.  Is it possible to love too much?  Sometimes I think so.
