This poem is a challenge by
Kethry to write a poem using images of a shallow grave as theme. Hers is dated 12/14, "A Shallow Grave".
.
.
.
.
I, The Lumberjack

.

Just you and your
man-made grave,
you think!
I dare you,
look down at me.
See, what you don't see.
You just shovelled
your murderous soul
to deep, dark burning hell,
yet, think you'll live
to perpetrate
your deed, again.

Turn slowly, your boughs of
cedar height, abrasive bark,
a, stand of tree,
powerful as many,
towering above me.

You, filtering the sunlight,
sieved through
red-stained debris,
covering me, eyelashes
curling around dead leaves.
Peek holes, my dark
seeking light.
Light,
seeping from my
spirit-breathing will.

I, the lumberjack,
finger trigger happy.
Gun, buried at bloodied
hand and hip.
Adrenalin dances to
numbing notes,
vengeance, pain free,
rock solid, heart
stopping hate!
Seething, teeth-grinding
strength wells up,
a spring of life, renewed,
as one of the
~living dead~ is
brought down by an
explosive thunder
of my rage.
Justice reflecting
the shallowness
of your soul,
as I crawl away
in victory!
.

(smiles) Still learning, by George, I think you've got it!!! (big hugggsssssss) This is very creative, sweet friend, I think every now and then we fail to look from ground level up or from aerial view and we all look in perspective! (big hugggsssss) This is excellent, sweet friend, I LOVE IT, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thank you Noah, and thanks for the encouraging words. I so appreciate you.  I think I do dark, best!
But, write them rarely, and never post them.

I try to refrain from it....
leaves a shadow of negativity,
I think. I need positive light always, but this was fun!
Hugs, Pat

Your imagery blew me away in this one.  Fine work, Pat

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
