(Some recent politics deeply stirred this poem/rap in my head, this is very different for me yet I feel this is one of my best ever and conveys a message we should all hold true! )

Say What You've Spoken
By: Noah Eaton
12/12/02

Hand yourself down, take yourself down, turn yourself around
How does it feel when you've worked it all out?
All these antibiotics, this Prozac, this benzocaine
Never seems to take the cancer away
Thumb through your medicine cabinet, gather all those astringents
You try them all, but you never feel adequate
Living through a petty world of broken glass and crowded streets
Trent Lott, Jesse Jackson, and spin-control manual preachings
When you know the arteries hold the head and the mouth together
Savor some and feed the rest for dinner
And Allan Ginsberg leaves Howl dog-eared where the text is bleeding
While the anaphora is peyote and the domain is deceiving
Moloch, Moloch, are you eavesdropping?
Moloch, Moloch, where are you hiding?

Feet can feel like clay and wrists can be broken
So save yourself and pay the token
All we need is love, that sweet rebellion
Just go on and say what you've spoken
Feet can feel like clay and wrists can be broken
So save yourself and pay the token
All we need is love, that sweet rebellion
Just go on and say what you've spoken

You know no one will pay for your lobotomy
You are in good hands, faith is no monotony
I speak for everyone when I say what I say
I don't feign, I don't blame, I don't make an excuse that's lame
Maltreated, conceited, you don't believe it
You say the truth but you lose a tooth and your honor seems fetid
You're constantly on your feet, swear you're in your ring-side-seat
Then you're forced to retreat without a 90-day warranty
Sometimes the atmosphere feels so irrefragable
And judging the mountains height feels so irrational
Taking the first step is the most important part
So be like Elijah and take the journey to heart
No one rules you, you are your own guru
For crying out loud, speak, what do you have to lose?

Feet can feel like clay and wrists can be broken
So save yourself and pay the token
All we need is love, that sweet rebellion
Just go on and say what you've spoken
Feet can feel like clay and wrists can be broken
So save yourself and pay the token
All we need is love, that sweet rebellion
Just go on and say what you've spoken

True, some have pushed me around, denied me
I've never agreed with every ukase, or authority
Just forgive your feelow man, turn the other cheek
Secure those words that rest so far beneath
Unz can try and steal our children's rights of education
Make a graduation, make an emancipation
Some may say you're misunderstanding
Don't think you're misleading
Don't believe you're mistreating
Only you know you're reasoning
So know you have the freedom of speech
Don't waste one breath, defy the laws of gravity
Bridges can't get you everywhere and can fall away
But you can own the day, just sing away!

Let your heart be heard!

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Noah, when you nail it...you do it impressively.  This works well from you.

I find myself thinking Lott doesn't need anyone to set him up for failure...he does it very nicely himself...his remark was very insensitive...James
