The heart of you

One love.

One love beats in my heart, Dear One.
A love that defies words and feelings.
A love that cannot be expressed
     in letters and in lines.
And yet, words are all I have for now
Dear One,  since we cannot be together.
Words written in a whispered language
Spoken on Moonlit beams
     and Sunshine rays.
Final "I love you's" exchanged
Before sleep drifts over our eyes
And our togetherdreams form and shape
     for us on that plane.
Words of this love, our love.

One love.

One love that I have waited for.
A love that I always knew existed,
But never thought would be mine
Until a night at year's end
     that was ours alone.
We laughed and smiled,
We flirted and played with
     the moon and the stars.
We would have danced, were there music.
Ah, but there was music,
The music of our hearts;
And a harmony that only begins
When two hearts find each other in love.

One love.

A love that began slowly, Dear One,
And grew over time.
Words did not come easy,
For all you had known was heartbreak;
But yet, your heart opened to mine,
And you believed again.
Believed that love could bring you
     a long sought happiness.
And that, in my arms,
Your soul could finally find rest.
And I believed it as well, my love.

One love.

A love that has filled
The darkness of our lives
With the light of its flame.
A love that has been expressed
     in many ways.
In word, in voice, and in thought.
And which now waits, Dear One,
To be expressed in deed.
As a moment of pure passion
That will rival the
     world's greatest lovers.
They will speak of us, Dear One.
For we will always be.
Our love will always be.

One love.

And when we are gone, Dear One,
Our one love will remain.
By our words and our expressions,
They will know us, Dear One.
And it is, through these,
     that we will speak.
When they read our words,
They will clutch their hearts,
Smile, and perhaps shed a tear.
For they will remember
     as I do now tell of
This love.

Our Love.

One Love.
