LOVE      doesn't always leave you feeling warm.

SOMETIMES    it seers the soul, chars the heart.

LEAVES YOU         in a pile of smouldering ash.

                             Even

WELL SEASONED          Phoenix cannot escape
                             the burning finale.

               Ashes to ashes,
                    dust to dust.

                   I know, I know.
                        But LOVE, I must.

And I don't want to discuss how many times I have been burned in the name of "love."  Oh girlfriend, I hear you on this one.

Merry Christmas to you and Sarah

Cool format, Kacy.  It starts with Love and ends with Love -- the meaning of life is so simple...  Don't you love that???

Thank you Sharon. Love is worth every burn. Admit it.

MARK, LOVE is the most basic essential atom of existence, the raison d'etre.

Raph, agreed. It's the highest peak and the lowest valley. I cherish both positions.

Hey Steven, how's the surf? Yes, and we wouldn't want it any other way, would we?

Hey Kacy, hope you don't mind some blanket praise and admiration but there are just to many of your poems in here for me to reply to individually. For someone that once said you just wern't that well grounded in reality your recent writes couldn't be more real.As always you leave me questioning my own perspective.Speaking of leaving I'm headed South for a few weeks for the first time in 15 years and you can bet more than a few of your writes will be in my head at those airports and bus stations spuring me on.Happy holidays to you and yours,Thanks for sharing your most appreciated talent.

Live like it's your last day...
Dance like nobody's watching...
Love like you've never been hurt...

Wow, Ray, now you've made me smile in blush.
Have a wonderful adventure outside. Stay in touch, OK? If you pass this way holler really loud so I can
Hope you're making some sweet music.

this is so true, and really, what is the alternative to it all? death, coldness, i guess, which sometimes does look more appealing afterall..........

Everything that was said above....
and...
    We would find
    glacier hearts
    do not support
    life
    So we build fires
    to consume us
