You are bright, not brilliant,
like some of God's stars.
Won't shine from within
til you find who you are.

Til you're down on the ground,
broken, somewhere,
sorting through sawdust,
lost in despair.

Putting self back together,
knowing only God's grace,
for you will not be whole
until you stop saving face.

nicely done... an insight perhaps harder for those experiencing to see than it is from the outside looking in...

Well done! Certainly clearly stated.

Ron, Thanks for the nicely done.

When re-reading this, though it is a reality ~to me~ others may not find it to be a truth.... It also seems judgemental and not really my style in my private life, and I think I should have added something to the effect all in God's own time, or a stanza about loving others til they truly love themselves... just mainly been writing without enoungh thought perhaps....
to the total outcome...playing catching up for all poems I didn't write, in a very long time.

About another 500 I might be satisfied with content and structure. Smiling here.  Appreciate your support.

Warm regards, Pat

Virginia, Thanks for the well done.
I do hope it wasn't too judgemental.
As said, a reality to me....Glad you responded.   Hugs Pat

(big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, He is indeed the one with the plan, but in order for the plan to be enacted, it all depends on you, for you are what makes you YOU! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Another poem of truth, friend. I'm enjoying this poetry you're "catching up for"...

Just keep on writing, dear Pat.

Pat, I'm a realist and have survived more than many will ever experience in their lives and did so without the help of others.  No, I don't consider your poem judgemental, only the reality of some, such as myself, and I appreciate the read.  Take care and God be with you.

the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Noah, Yes, that's right. Starts with a willingness from you, but I do believe it is in His own time. He knocks, whether we answer....well?....Thanks

Dixie, Sandpiper, Sunkissed, Ethel,

Toerag, You said it well, thank you sweet friend...so appreciate you.
