With iron lance and gallant course
I ride my horse at gallop force
My roar of stance is broad and clear
This haggard world in armored fear.

I swear to bring the bright to sight
To clear the gray and dark of night
To tear the shroud this false of show
To free this freedom that we know

And though I gray this weary vast
I promised I would stay the last
And do what must be done this deed
For humanity in need

So if you see me pass today
In armor plate along the way
I go to fight this final bout
This towering giant of doubt

But if I fail this flags icon
Please bail it up and carry on.

You bring YOUR "bright to sight"

Thanks so much for this ride.

Sy, this is one of my favorites of yours -- maybe it's that air of chivalry and "righteousness" or the subtle musical gallop in these verses...  in any case:  very well done!

Bein’ a knight’s a burden.
I cain’t stop from hurtin’;
These jousts and shivarees
Have got the best of me.

Your fine writing recalled words I'd written about a knight.  Thanks for a great job.  KJ

Isn't that funny I always figured it was because their armor was too heavy or something because my knights always fell off their horses     However, they never had any problem with their amour - Mr. Sy you are the apple of this Canadian girl's eye.

Will you be heading west on the interstate?  I've never seen a real knight in shining armor before!!   'Tis a noble deed indeed!!

Knights are in the eyes of the beholder. Every once in a while one will pass bye.
But the older you get the harder they are to see. LOL Thank you.
